Arne Slot has assured Liverpool fans that the club are working on summer recruitment targets.

The Dutchman's tenure thus far has exceeded the expectations of even the most optimistic Reds supporter. Slot had the unenviable task of following club legend Jurgen Klopp but has guided the team to the top of the Premier League, the League Cup semi-final and a perfect record in the Champions League.

Even more remarkably, this has been achieved without any meaningful investment into the squad. The club made two additions last summer, bringing in Federico Chiesa, who has largely been absent due to injury and เกมสล็อต ออนไลน์ ได้เงินจริง Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will not join the squad until next term.

Mindful of this fact, and perhaps the uncertainty that remains over the future of three of the side's best players, Slot has insisted that the club are working on options that would strengthen his already impressive squad.

'Liverpool should always be competing for a league title,' he told the BBC. 'We should always be competing for the Champions League. I'm hoping I will be able to keep the club at that level.

'I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well. There's a reason for that - because we're happy with the squad.

The Reds may be forced to spend big in the summer should any combination of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah or Virgil van DIjk leave at the end of the season

'But I do know we're definitely working on strengthening in the summer.'

Liverpool may be forced to launch a costly spree in the summer, should any combination of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold depart when their contracts expire at the end of the term.

The Englishman's future has attracted the most interest in recent weeks due to public overtures from Real Madrid and even the tabling of a diresery £20million bid earlier this month.

Slot has maintained that the trio's performances have not been affected by their contractual situations.

They are among the 12 stars the Dutchman opted to leave at home when his side travelled to the Netherlands to take on PSV Eindhoven in their final League Phase match on Wednesday night.

Liverpool sit top of the standings and are guaranteed to finish in one of the top two spots, assuring them a place in the last-16 where they will meet a side who come through the play-off round.
